Prof. Anthony O. Adegbulugbe
MD/CEO, Green Energy International Ltd
Professor Anthony Olusegun Adegbulugbe combines academic expertise in energy policy with practical leadership of Green Energy International Limited, an indigenous company focused on developing oil, gas and power solutions in Nigeria.
Under his leadership, GEIL has developed the Otakikpo Marginal Field and pioneered infrastructure designed to make local energy production more efficient and sustainable. The company completed a more than $400 million onshore development and commissioned Nigeria’s first indigenous onshore crude oil export terminal, a major local-content milestone.
The Otakikpo terminal has already enabled crude exports and provides additional evacuation capacity for oil fields in the Niger Delta. By reducing dependence on offshore evacuation infrastructure, the project has the potential to improve production economics and unlock stranded reserves in the region.
Adegbulugbe has also championed gas utilisation through the development of an LPG extraction facility and a gas-to-power project, linking upstream production with domestic energy use and electricity generation.
The Daily Times of Nigeria honours Professor Anthony O. Adegbulugbe and Green Energy International Limited as Energy Company of the Decade for pioneering indigenous energy infrastructure, advancing local content, developing crude-export and gas-utilisation capacity, and strengthening Nigeria’s energy security.
