Engr. Jennifer Adighije has brought an engineering, commercial and execution-focused approach to the leadership of Niger Delta Power Holding Company, the institution responsible for managing Nigeria’s National Integrated Power Projects.
Under her leadership, NDPHC has pursued the restoration and optimisation of dormant generation assets. In January 2025, two turbine units at the 450MW Ihovbor Power Plant were restored, adding about 230MW to national generation capacity. By 2026, the company also announced the restoration of the Alaoji Open Cycle Power Plant, with three generating units capable of delivering approximately 375MW after rehabilitation.
Adighije has also prioritised transmission and distribution infrastructure, with NDPHC reporting more than ₦500 billion invested in transmission infrastructure and networks. The company has continued to develop projects such as the 10MW solar plant in Kano under the Light Up Nigeria initiative and new distribution infrastructure in underserved communities.
Her leadership has also focused on commercial sustainability, revenue recovery and the efficient utilisation of NDPHC assets, while advocating for the reforms and financing needed to unlock Nigeria’s power sector.
